A cold bridge is a point where the continuity of the insulation is broken – a concrete balcony slab that runs from inside to outside, an exposed beam, or an unsealed window frame. Condensation collects at these points, and from condensation come damp patches and mould in the corners. Continuous insulation matters more than thick insulation in one place.
